Coir pots are good for the environment and good for growing better vegetable plants.  You plant your coir potted veggie plants directly in the ground in the coir pot.  No need to remove the plant from its container.  Coir pots are made of coconut fibers, so they easily biodegrade.  And because they’re so permeable to water, air and roots, they promote faster cultivation, an excellent root system and re-establishment without any shock from transplanting.

When plants are cultivated in coir pots, the roots quickly penetrate the pot walls. Contact with the air stops the roots from growing, root buds start to appear and a dense network of secondary root hairs develops throughout the pot. Also, the root buds that form are so packed with nutrients that they’re almost supercharged for growth once the coir pot is planted in the earth. All in all you get a stronger root system and a stronger plant!
